Enzovera Recombinant CSFV E2 Protein (EV-PRO-005) is a Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cell–expressed subunit antigen representing the envelope glycoprotein E2 of Classical Swine Fever Virus (CSFV), supplied at ≥95% purity in 1.5 ml tubes. E2 is the major immunogenic surface glycoprotein of CSFV and carries the principal neutralizing and protective immune epitopes of the virus, making recombinant E2 the antigen of choice for CSFV serology, DIVA (Differentiating Infected from Vaccinated Animals)–capable diagnostic test development, and seroprevalence surveillance assays used in Classical Swine Fever eradication programs worldwide.
Antigen biology. Classical Swine Fever Virus is a Pestivirus (family Flaviviridae) of major global veterinary and agricultural significance, causing severe hemorrhagic fever in domestic swine and wild boar with high morbidity and mortality in susceptible populations. The E2 glycoprotein is the dominant surface antigen, expressed as a disulfide-linked homodimer on the virion envelope, carrying multiple neutralizing epitope domains (A through D) recognized by humoral immune responses following both natural infection and conventional live-attenuated vaccination. CHO cell expression is specifically required to reproduce the correct N-linked glycosylation pattern and disulfide bond topology present on authentic viral E2 — post-translational modifications critical for faithful epitope presentation and maximum serological test sensitivity and specificity.
DIVA serology and diagnostic integration. DIVA diagnostics are a cornerstone of modern CSF eradication programs that combine vaccination with surveillance. When E2-subunit vaccines are used (which contain E2 but not non-structural protein NS3), recombinant E2–based ELISA and lateral flow assays detect antibodies in both naturally infected and E2-vaccinated animals, while NS3-based companion tests distinguish infected (NS3-positive) from vaccinated (NS3-negative) individuals. EV-PRO-005, expressed in CHO cells with preserved glycosylation, is designed for incorporation into ELISA-format DIVA serological assays, competitive blocking ELISAs, and antibody detection lateral flow strips for veterinary field diagnostics across the pig production and surveillance chain.
