
Enzovera POP-4 Separation Polymer (EV-SGR-005) is a Performance Optimized Polymer 4 formulation for capillary electrophoresis on ABI 3100, 3130, and 3500-series Genetic Analyzers. It is optimized for fragment analysis applications and short- to mid-read Sanger sequencing, providing high resolution in the 20–500 bp range typical of microsatellite genotyping, SNP analysis, and MLPA fragment sizing. The polymer is supplied as a ready-to-use, instrument-compatible formulation.
Polymer chemistry and resolution profile. POP-4 is a lower-viscosity polymer formulation than POP-7, with a sieving matrix tuned to deliver maximum resolution in the small- and mid-fragment range. It offers faster run times than POP-7 on equivalent instruments, making it the polymer of choice for high-throughput fragment analysis applications including STR genotyping for human identification, microsatellite analysis for population genetics, and aneuploidy detection by quantitative fluorescence PCR (QF-PCR). For Sanger sequencing, POP-4 supports read lengths of approximately 500–700 bases on standard short-capillary configurations.
Direct ABI replacement. EV-SGR-005 is a direct replacement for Applied Biosystems POP-4. It uses identical run modules and is fully compatible with ABI mobility files for both sequencing and fragment analysis dye sets. No instrument re-calibration is required when switching from ABI POP-4.
Instrument compatibility. The 3.5 mL pack is sized for ABI 3100 (16-capillary), 3130 (4-capillary), 3130xl (16-capillary), and 3500/3500xl (8- and 24-capillary) Genetic Analyzers. For long-read Sanger sequencing on 3730/3730xl systems, use POP-7 Separation Polymer (EV-SGR-004).
